The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences (psych.udel.edu) in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware (UD) is seeking to fill two Temporary Assistant Professor positions. Each is a one-year position but may be renewed (depending on performance, funding, and departmental course needs) for up to three years, total. Start date is August 16, 2023.
The University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, is only a short drive or train commute from Philadelphia, PA. UD is also within driving distance of New York City, Baltimore, Washington DC, the Poconos and some of the finest beaches in the country, making it an ideal location for day or weekend trips.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position involves teaching four in-person undergraduate courses a semester with the goal of two (or at most three) preps per semester. One position involves teaching multiple sections of Social Psychology or Research in Personality; the other position involves teaching multiple sections of Cognition. Both positions will involve teaching additional courses such as Research Methods, Statistics, Advanced Research Methods, or General Psychology. Our department is committed to providing quality undergraduate educational experiences within a research-focused department. Applicants for this position must be ABD or have earned a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field and have some experience teaching or mentoring undergraduates. Successful candidates should provide evidence that they are engaged in evidence-based and reflective teaching practices.
