Teaching-Track Faculty Positions in Computer Science

The Computer Science Department is actively seeking applicants for three full-time teaching faculty positions starting in the Fall of 2023. Appointments may be at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor or Instructor, depending on the candidate’s educational background. Applicants with professional experience are encouraged to apply and may be appointed as a Professor of Practice.

Appointments are expected to lead to multi-year contracts and long-term security of employment without tenure.
Successful candidates will teach 5 courses a year and advise junior and senior projects. Junior-year projects involve the interaction of society and technology and Senior-year projects focus specifically on Computer Science. At WPI, undergraduate classes are taught in four 7-week terms during the normal 9-month academic year, so candidates would often teach a single class at a time. At the graduate level, courses are held in two 14-week semesters. Instruction will primarily be done in-person with a possibility for online teaching.

Questions about the hiring process should be sent to [email protected]. More information about the positions and instructions for applying are available at http://web.cs.wpi.edu/facultyhire/.  You will need to include a teaching statement, vitae and contact information for at least three references.

The deadline for applications is January 15, 2023 with applications continuing to be considered after that date until the positions are filled.
