Description:
A graduate assistantship is available in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Department at the University of Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate is expected to pursue PhD degree investigating stably stratified turbulent flows with applications to the atmospheric boundary layer using direct numerical and large-eddy simulation techniques under the supervision of Dr. Inanc Senocak.
Required Qualifications
• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field (e.g. aerospace, civil, chemical)
• Minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0
• Excellent computer programming skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
• M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
• Undergraduate research experience
• Publications in journals and/or conference proceedings
