Security Administrator II
COCC
Rocky Hill, CT
Before I post the marketing deal, I just wanted to throw down a few personal notes. I am the hiring manager (AVP Security Infrastructure) and I am looking for the right fit first and foremost. Culture and team dynamic are huge at COCC, and we're a top workplace year after year (literally). Yes, you need to have security experience/knowledge for this role at some level (see desired certs). But the prior is definitely more important to me. What is a Security Administrator? You can think of it as a Systems Administrator. In this role you will be working on Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Proxies of all sorts, Web Application Firewalls, Remote Access Systems, and more. While COCC is considered a mid to large size company, my group is not very siloed. You will touch a lot of technologies, including emerging technologies. Think Cloud, CASB/SASE, Containers, and automation. Ah yes, automation. If you can bring scripting, Ansible, or like experience, you're hitting the ground running. This group has a large operational component currently, but we're working on reducing that operational component with those technologies. There is a built-in career path into Engineering, Architecture, as well as leadership opportunities. I am looking for someone somewhat local, as we are a hybrid workforce. But if you're a perfect fit, I'm still completely interested. My management style you ask? I came from entry-level and rose through the ranks. I'm one of you. I'm also a student of Echolon Front EO (if that means anything to you, then you know). I let smart people be smart people. Let's do it. If you have any questions, please reach out to me and I'd be happy to answer any and all. Thank you!
