    MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

    Regional Planner II: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part time technical or professional experience in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, transportation planning or land use planning, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a professional capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

    Substitutions

    I. A Bachelor’s degree with a major in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture, civil, environmental, or transportation engineering or environmental sciences may be substituted for two years of the required (A) experience. *

    II. A Graduate degree with a major in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture, civil, environmental, or transportation engineering or environmental sciences may be substituted for the required experience. *

    *Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in project management for building stabilization and rehabilitation, in both the design and construction phases.  Examples of skills and experience include building assessment, experience in building trades, understanding of building code and other regulations,
    Experience and / or coursework in the field of historic buildings / historic preservation and knowledge of the skills, methods and/or regulations of historic building rehabilitation.
    Strong working knowledge of computer skills, including Microsoft Word products such as Office applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Teams, preferable proficient in learning new software such as including database management, spreadsheet applications, Powerpoint, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Arc GIS applications.
    Strong organizational skills
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Flexibility to perform a wide range of assignments and respond the changing deadlines
    The ability to work in teams and independently
    Tact, and good judgment.
    Seasonal positions may be subject to the recall process and will be filled in accordance with collective bargaining agreements; positions not filled using this process will be interviewed for.

    Interviews will be conducted at the ending of the posting period. Successful candidates may be required to start immediately.

    DCR is operating in a hybrid workplace model.  Employees are expected to report to their assigned location 1-2 days per week, and telework the remainder of the work week.
