School Traffic Supervisor/Parking Control Officer

The Town of Brookline is seeking a School Traffic Supervisor/Parking Control Officer. The School Traffic Supervisor/Parking Control Officer will direct traffic at assigned street crossings to protect school children and provide orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Responsible for enforcing parking rules and regulations for the Town of Brookline in accordance with Mass. General Laws, Town by-laws, and traffic rules and regulations taking cognizance of illegally parked vehicles, overtime meters, restricted parking violations, public safety violations. Issue notices of violation to offenders. Explains when requested the reason for the violation notice; notifies authorities of motor vehicle accidents, emergencies or hazards; notes and reports any motor vehicle violation to the Traffic Division for follow up investigation; keep records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
Qualifications:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and traverse an assigned area of the Town is also required. Ability to deal courteously and firmly with the driving public and pedestrians; ability to create written reports and keep accurate records of meter and/or parking violations.
Starting salary: $25.53 hourly. This is a full-time with great benefits. Please apply by March 26, 2023.
