Minimum Qualifications
Education:High School Diploma of equivalent and some post-secondary education
Knowledge and Skills:Familiarity with and knowledge of barriers justice-involved job seekers face when transitioning into their community including, but not limited to, employment, housing, transportation, access to medical care, etc.
Physical Demands:Must be mentally and emotionally able to perform a variety of essential duties under both normal and stressful or emergency conditions. Must be able to independently plan, prioritize, and organize work. Must be able to accept change and interruption. Must be able to interact with Board Members, staff, clients, and other visitors. Must be physically able to perform general office work eight (8) or more hours daily as deadlines and workload mandates. Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, copier, typewriter, and telephone system.
Licensing Requirement: Must possess a current, valid NC driver's license.

Position Description
Carteret Community College is accepting applications for 2 part-time (25 hours per week) Re-Entry Transition Specialists. One Specialist will work in Carteret County, and another will work in Onslow County. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The individual in this position is or is willing to become a Certified Peer Support Specialist who will assist justice-involved (JI) customers in navigating services available that can address their employment and training needs and provide supportive services to ensure a successful transition into their local community. Services include but are not limited to: job search activities, eligibility determination and assisting with enrollment into Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I programs, career advising, file management, referring customers to additional resources, and assisting with employment activities as needed, assisting JI customers with their individual employment plans, and employment search activities. This position will also work closely with their local re-entry council and community partners to ensure program goals are achieved.
