SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project implementation, including timely performance, the achievement of objectives and compliance with funder requirements. The Project Manager establishes, maintains, and develops productive working relationship with relevant stakeholders, expert contributors, field network and program staff. The Project Manager will also be responsible for preparing internal and external project reports, monitoring and analyzing project outcomes, donor communications, and other financial and administrative duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing all aspects of project design and implementation
  • Planning and developing the projects’ online training and mentorship components
  • Spearheading the content development for research-based and circular activities
  • Supervising project team members, providing ongoing performance feedback, and maintaining productive working relationship with relevant stakeholders, consultants, field and program staff
  • Maintaining online operation security, functionality and capabilities
  • Ensuring that project is completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with the funder and IWPR policies and requirements
  • Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on related developments in the environment of operation
  • Monitoring project’s budget and spending, and offering guidance and assistance when needed
  • Preparing reports including weekly, monthly and quarterly reports based on IWPR M&E and reporting format

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree (preferred) in political science, international relations, sociology, management, history, or any other related fields
  • 5 years of related work experience of project implementation in the non-profit and/or international development sector is essential
  • Experience in developing project design
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English and at least one other MENA language
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
  • Background knowledge of international relations, development, or non-profit management
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google and Microsoft Documents, and Mac OS

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrated management experience including ability to motivate staff and other professionals
  • Strong communications and coordination skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate operational environment
  • Ability to anticipate prospective operational challenges and to develop creative and timely solutions
  • Financial management experience in developing and administering project budget
