Job Description:
Collecting and handling samples from greenhouse or field grown plants, monitoring of irrigation, fertilization and temperature control in greenhouses, plant propagation, pasteurization of soil, devitalization of plants by autoclaving, monitoring of pests and diseases in the greenhouse and field, pesticide applications in the greenhouse, harvesting plots or greenhouse trials, processing samples and recording data, ordering of supplies, monitoring compliance with biosafety and pesticide regulations, extensive documentation, project review, report preparation. The research program focuses on designing feedstocks for biofuels and bioproducts.
Expected Salary:
$12 – $15 per hour
Minimum Requirements:Valid Florida drivers license, previous experience with management of greenhouse or field crops.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in plant science
Research experience with greenhouse or field crops
