Job Description:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Research Office is accepting applications for a Fiscal Assistant. The Fiscal Assistant provides fiscal support in the CLAS Research Office (CLAS RO). Responsible for complex calculations, collection, or verification of financial data and processing of account transactions. Functions with some independent responsibility for accounting or budgetary tasks within an office or provides higher level support within a large accounting environment. Adheres to University financial policy and procedures. This position serves departments and colleges by providing support in monitoring, processing, reviewing, and/or approving transactional activities relating to the fiscal and sponsored projects processes, and may be involved in human resources and commitment accounting processes. In addition, this position is responsible for building relationships with units served by the CLAS Research Office and university constituents, and supporting a culture centered on delivering excellent customer service.

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processes, reviews, and/or approves fiscal transactions in the CLAS Research Office.
  • Process Analysis and Account Reconciliation

Work hours are flexible between the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

 

This position is available part-time or full-time. 

Expected Salary:

The salary range is $16.00 – $20.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Ability to work independently with demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail.
