The Metadata Management Lead as part of the Office of Data Management will assist with lead the development of the AgFirst’s metadata management processes and procedures to align them with the data management standards and policies. This position will Define the optimal Metadata model design as the Metadata owner and driver for optimal design of the data management tool (Collibra) Identifying and understanding business and technical lineage requir ements. Defining the build and working closely with the Technical lead to enhance and maintain the data catalog, policy and standards library, the data lineage, the data quality, privacy and risk dashboards as well as how to translate metadata usage into business enabled processes. This position leads the interaction with technology stakeholders, business data owners and report content owners to ensure metadata is certified and kept current and compliant. This position is also responsible for creating and refining the Data Governance Program standards and processes aligned to Metadata, master and reference data management to promote data accountability, validate compliance, and track data governance effectiveness through scorecards and status reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:
– Lead and partner with business owners of data and other team members of the Office of Data Management to create comprehensive data management processes to be automated in the Collibra and participation in data governance efforts
– Scrum master lead to run the agile implementation process for all metadata management processes and implementation roadmap
– Perform business requirements analysis for business rules, business processes and documents associated with population, maintenance and completeness of metadata
– Work with stakeholders to define, maintain, and support application, business glossary, business intelligence, data integration, data modeling, and database management resources in Collibra
– Design Collibra Privacy model and processes
– Design processes and metamodel linkage between technical Business Glossaries and Collibra assets
– Validate completeness of data lineage between the point of data element creation (system of record) and the point where it is consumed by business users (trusted data sources) and design processes for implementation to certify Tier 1 CDEs and Reports
– Provide ongoing support for metadata implementation, testing and integration
– Design and maintain metadata standards and procedures
– Create requirements and solution architecture for all Collibra implemented and manual processes, including issues, catalog, lineage, privacy data quality and risk
– Devise improvements to current procedures and develop methods for increasing efficiency, accuracy, and performance of metadata solutions. Integrate with information excellence for the identification, tracking, root cause analysis, and monitoring of data challenges across the enterprise
– Research and apply data best practices to offer guidance to business data owners by identifying areas for data lifecycle improvement a nd potential solutions
– As a metadata specialist, lead efforts to investigate, conduct interviews, and perform analysis related to current data lifecycle processes across multiple business data domains. Participate in business data process modeling sessions and documentation
– Assist the Enterprise Data Director in driving Office of Data Management initiatives. Provide weekly team status reports and updates on key business partners’ progress towards implementing metadata management
– As a knowledge management coordinator, assist and guide business owners in understanding and using Collibra, designing and defining the customer experience in Collibra
– Designing Dashboard and Tableau integrations for Collibra platform
– Conduct periodic reviews of the data catalogue to ensure compliance with the data governance standards and policies
– Participate in a variety of activities related to data governance, data strategy implementation, data model ing, data requirements, risk assessment, identification of data challenges, modeling, data manipulation, and/or requirement elicitation

Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience in a related field
– Minimum 7 years of business analyst/business process improvement experience that includes experience building and/or analyzing data ingestion frameworks
– Minimum 3 years of managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications:
– Knowledgeable and experienced with data management processes, metadata management, data stewardship, and data quality
– Experience and knowledge of Collibra
– Agile coach training
– Experience with data governance and change management processes
– A self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
– Customer-focused ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
– Strong communication, collaboration, and consulting skills, ability to communicate across all le vels of the organization (including internal and external stakeholders)
– Possesses effective analytical abilities in order to examine data, data models, business processes, and make recommendations on improvements
– Excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, and time management
– Ability to work independently
