What you'll be working on

  • Reviewing daily ticket requests, prioritizing them to be efficient and effective in completing daily requirements through Ticket Management System
  • Performing timely and accurate locates, including positive response to each ticket
  • Contacting and cooperating with co-workers in other departments and outside contractors to obtain necessary information to complete locate requests and insure construction near major facilities meets Company policies and procedures.
  • Completing documentation of locate requests in the Ticket Management System
  • Reporting back to Planning and Design any errors found in GIS mapping
  • Attending one call meetings as directed
  • Meeting performance criteria set for a Locator I
  • Attending pre-construction meetings when requested to explain the location of our facilities and potential conflicts with the proposed work
  • Communicating with excavators or others relevant information in regards to their locate request
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

 Who you are…

  • You have the ability to solve problems and perform daily requirements with minimal supervision
  • You possess excellent communication and customer relation skills
  • You have the ability to assist in damage prevention efforts and data collecting
  • You can maintain a very low to no damages due to incorrectly marked lines
  • You are able to respond to emergency locate requests including after hours
  • You are able to respond to facility damages, assist with the investigation, collect data
  • You possess computer skills including Ticket Management System, GIS mapping, Microsoft Office
  • You have a normal level of visual and hearing ability
  • You have knowledgeable of State and Company damage prevention regulations
  • You have knowledge of Basic Utility Construction Standards
  • You have knowledgeable of GIS mapping and company records
  • You have a valid Driver's License
  • You have the ability to follow Company safety rules, regulations, procedures, policies and manuals
  • You can perform work tasks and activities in a safe and conscientious manner

Where you'll be working:

  • Majority of work is field based, much of time spent in vehicle and along pipeline
