Job Summary

Dominion is seeking an intern in IT Process Computer Systems department to work at the Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, Connecticut. 

Works under direction of Supervisor or Senior IT personnel.

Work activities are related to maintenance, testing and repair of equipment associated with both Digital and Analog systems including servers, microprocessor, electronic and mechanical.

Accurately completes documentation associated with assigned job tasks and complies with approved procedures. Complies with and demonstrates a working knowledge of Work Management processes, Equipment Clearances (safety tagging), Work permits associated with department maintenance work assignments and Safety regulations, policies, and practices.

Assists with drafting procedures and maintains accurate records for repairing, testing, and maintenance of equipment.

Assists with design details to support system upgrades and site engineering projects. Implements and tests plant design changes. 

Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to carry out the job. Knows when to get others involved on unfamiliar or complex problems.

Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments

Uses industry accepted human performance practices to promote error free performance and coaches others to raise standards and expectations.

Incorporates Cyber Security principles and requirements in all hardware and software. 

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

Working knowledge of industrial computers and networks.

Analytical problem-solving skills.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Strong electrical/mechanical assembly aptitude.

Working knowledge of using multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering iron, etc.

Working knowledge of using power tools, drills, saws, etc.

Solid working knowledge of and experience with MS Office applications

Physical ability to carry a minimum of 50 pounds of equipment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be in the process of obtaining a Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Math field
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Must have a graduation date between 2024 – 2026.
