Position Description
Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Electrical Ground Support Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB). The C-HGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
The successful candidate will serve as an Electrical Ground Support Engineer that will handle all aspects of electrical ground support equipment for Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). The candidate will support design and manufacture of special electrical test equipment to support AI&T activities. In some cases existing equipment may be modified to support a low rate production activity. Areas of work will include LABVIEW based test systems, instrumentation systems, power and communication boxes, breakout boxes and software. This effort will involve the procurement, production and test of flight hardware along with developing the equipment and tools to support the effort as a critical path. The candidate will support production and test of flight hardware along with developing the equipment and tools to support the production process. The candidate will support/oversee development of test equipment and test processes as well as review of test results. Along with reviewing existing test equipment drawings and work instructions, the candidate will resolve data gaps and derive requirements while assisting with Technical Data Package documentation of HGB ground support equipment. In addition, the candidate will need to support equipment installation and testing during AI&T process, including troubleshooting and potential onsite repairs/rework as well as possible testing at environmental test labs. The candidate will assist in preparation of RFP for component manufacturing, including parts management, quality, and documentation, and establishing test requirements along with providing supplier surveillance during manufacturing and testing to include Non-Compliance Reports and quality issues. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 8+ years of relevant experience.
The following skills/abilities are desired:
· Experience with design of test equipment to implement test procedures
· Knowledge of missile components including power systems, actuators, telemetry systems, and flight termination systems
· Experience leading a small team
· Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB ground support equipment
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area.
Other Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have experience in electronics/avionics/environmental testing
Security Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
