Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to provide high quality medical services within the scope of family medicine which encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system and every disease entity. Responsible for the provision of comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to patients in a primary medical care ambulatory clinic or telehealth setting in collaboration with a physician. 

WORK EXPERIENCE: Three to five years experience required for Nurse Practioner and five to eight years’ experience required for Physician Assistant, preferably within ambulatory care or internal medicine setting. Experience working with diverse populations of all ages, including patients experiencing homelessness or who are HIV positive, is preferred.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Obtain and possess licensure in the State of Alaska as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and unrestricted DEA certification, meet minimum CME requirements as per licensing board on a yearly basis and maintain CPR/BLS certification. 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Bilingual preferred. Interpersonal skills that demonstrate compassion and the ability to effectively communicate and treat diverse cultures and people.
