THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT & INFORMATION SYSTEMS (M&IS) AT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY SEEKS QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO APPLY FOR A NON-TENURE-TRACK POSITION AT THE RANK OF LECTURER IN HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) AND MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVE FALL 2023.

KENT STATE UNIVERSITY HAS GROWING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL BUSINESS, HUMAN RESOURCES AND MANAGEMENT. SO, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE QUALIFIED TO TEACH ACROSS UNDERGRADUATE DISCIPLINES IN GENERAL BUSINESS, HUMAN RESOURCES, AND MANAGEMENT. THIS POSITION WILL BE HOUSED IN THE NEWLY CREATED DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT. THE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT WILL OPERATE AS AN INDEPENDENT UNIT SEPARATE FROM THE M&IS DEPARTMENT BEGINNING IN FALL 2023.

CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION MUST HAVE INDUSTRY WORK EXPERIENCE, WITH A MINIMUM OF EARNED MASTER’S DEGREE IN MANAGEMENT OR COGNATE DISCIPLINES BY THE TIME OF EMPLOYMENT, EVIDENCE OF EFFECTIVE TEACHING, AND CREDENTIALS AND EXPERTISE APPROPRIATE FOR TEACHING GENERAL BUSINESS, HUMAN RESOURCES, AND MANAGEMENT COURSES AT THE UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

THE M&IS DEPARTMENT IS COLLEGIAL WITH STRONG EMPHASIS ON COLLABORATION, AND CROSS-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH. THE DEPARTMENT MAINTAINS STRONG STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS AND THE COLLEGE OPERATES A GLOBAL MANAGEMENT CENTER. THE FUTURE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT WILL COMPRISE A SUBSET OF M&IS FACULTY WHO SPECIALIZE IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND HR MANAGEMENT.
