The School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) at Seton Hall University invites applications for a new, twelve-month, Assistant, Associate Professor or Professor rank faculty position in the Department of Interprofessional Health Sciences and Health Administration’s beginning July 1, 2023, subject to budgetary provisions. The incumbent will develop content and deliver courses in several degree programs within the Department (BS IPHS) including our new Bachelor of Science in Interprofessional Health Sciences program, our Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) program, which is the only CAHME-accredited program of its kind (on-campus and online/hybrid) in New Jersey, and in the PhD in Health Sciences program.
The School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University has a significant national presence in health sciences education. The School has assumed a leadership role in offering high quality, innovative programs at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels with a longstanding commitment to interprofessional education (IPE). The School of Health and Medical Sciences offers opportunities for collaborative research, teaching, and grantsmanship across several disciplines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Qualifications for the position include: a PhD in health administration or a closely related field. Candidates with a background in diverse health administration curricula including, economics, policy, finance, and data analytics and prior teaching experience, including online delivery, are especially encouraged to apply.
- Responsibilities include developing content for new courses, revising content for existing courses, as needed, teaching on-campus and online undergraduate and graduate courses that will take place at our Interprofessional Health Sciences Campus in Nutley, NJ and South Orange campus, conducting research, applying for external grants, mentoring, academic advisement to undergraduate and graduate students, dissertation committee leadership and participating on committees at the department, school, and university levels.
Qualifications for the position include: a PhD (or equivalent) in health administration or a closely related field.
Expected qualifications also include a strong record of scholarship, academic teaching experience and effectiveness, and essential interprofessional skills. Industry experience is strongly desired.
