The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) is accepting applications for a seasonal Equal Opportunity & Diversity Summer Worker within the Bureau of Administration.
Anticipated start date in May 2023 and ending by August 31, 2023
Monday – Friday
Full Time (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
Learn what it is like to work on a state affirmative action plan including documentation and equity and inclusion compliance. In this role, you will:
Gain an understanding of civil rights efforts at the state agency level
Work with CCSU on the National Summer Transportation Institute to coordinate meetings, plan recruitment of high school students, create flyers and advertising materials, and coordinate programs and field trips with DOT staff
Manage office functions and organization
Data clean up
Analyzing Excel reports to track hires, promotions, and goal achievement
Intake and logging complaints
Prepare data and charts for meetings

The mission of the Bureau of Finance & Administration is to Initiate, Develop, Communicate and Support by utilizing its Team and the methods of Continuous Improvement to compliment the Mission of the Department of Transportation in accomplishing the needs of the Department’s Customers. This will be accomplished through the provision of tools and methods that: Maintain a quality standard for the development of personnel resources; Maximize fiscal and operational performance; Improve business processes using information systems technology; Expand opportunities for community participation in the supply of goods and services for the promotion of Economic Development and; Strive to enhance the transportation system of the State
