English: Visiting Assistant Professor in Writing
Position: Two full-time instructional academic staff positions of Visiting Assistant Professor in Writing (official title: Lecturer) are available in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire beginning August 21, 2023. The position is for a two-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for one to two additional years based on successful review.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate or terminal degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or closely related field. ABDs will also be considered.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a record of excellence in teaching writing at the college level.
- Candidates must have at least two semesters of experience teaching first-year composition at the college level.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with developmental and/or multilingual writers
- Experience with writing program administration
- Experience with multimodal composition
Individuals who have previously held the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in Writing at UW-Eau Claire are not eligible to apply.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach 15 credits each semester, primarily in the firstyear writing program, the Blugold Seminar in Critical Reading and Writing
