BHI Energy is seeking a Construction Manager for coordination & schedule of site construction activities from foundations to closeout including but not limited to: participation in design reviews to assist with constructability, site layout, material deliveries & storage, various inspections, detailed record keeping, permit compliance, review of contractor work/execution plans, review of critical lift plans, contractor oversight, site security, safety leadership, quality control documentation, Lockout Tagout procedures and commissioning oversight of various units/systems.
Job Details / Essential Job Functions:
Operational Effectiveness: Knowledge & understanding all phases of site construction, ensure that construction activities are completed on time, within budget, & according to specifications/scope of work. Monitor day to day activities & ensure short & long term goals are being met. Daily record keeping of activities along with weekly Project reporting. Tracking & reporting of delays, extra work or potential extra work performed by contractors. Coordination of construction activities with plant operations to ensure plant reliability and operations remain unaffected during all construction phases. Safety: Monitor & champion construction safety. Provide visible safety leadership through actions & performance. Participate in worksite audits, safety observations, safety investigations & reporting of incidents & near misses & accidents/injuries/issues. Monitor implantation of disciplinary measure and/or removal of workers for safety violations per established rules and requirements, monitor OSHA compliance regulations & perform & report safety observations on all contractors performing work on Xcel Energy Projects. Business Optimization & Strategy: Provide input into labor resource strategy for the project. Assist with project constructability assessments & reviews. Provide support to team to execute and/or track critical project aspects including schedule, safety, permit compliance, drawing review, execution plan review, commissioning activities, & cost tracking. Relationship Management: Establish effective relationship with stakeholders based on teamwork & open honest communication. Provide construction consult to project leads & other team & assist w/ mentoring & construction knowledge transfer. Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure adequate inspection and/or monitoring of all work to establish compliance with requirements, & to maintain appropriate records. Participate in construction inspections & quality related site activities. Establish, monitor, and track processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
