OVERVIEW OF ROLE

 

The job holder should have knowledge and training related Cathodic Protection of riser, flowlines and structures within Marine and/or Oil and Gas industry.

 

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

 

  • Establishes cathodic protection requirements in accordance with applicable specifications, codes and standards (eg. ISO, DNV)
  • Develop CP protection philosophy for the project and tenders
  • Experience in CP design of onshore systems and Impressed current systems.
  • Prepare CP design reports, Technical scope of work and all documentation for Anode selection.
  • Understanding basic parameters / inputs for CP modelling is a plus
  • Training and mentoring Junior Engineers.
  • Experience in subsea coatings and standards is a plus
  • Interface with other stakeholders including Project Team, Pipeline Design, Pipeline Group, Clients and suppliers

  • Operate within the Business Code of Conduct

  • Support standards and procedures for the Engineering Function

 

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering/Corrosion Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of Relevant Work Experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Good knowledge and experience on corrosion mechanisms and assessment of corrosion susceptibility for different materials
  • Excellent knowledge in industry standard codes like ISO/DNV for Cathodic Protection Design
  • Experience with relevant corrosion rate calculation tools (ECE 5, NORSOK M-506)
  • Experience in EPCI projects.
  • Experience in design, installation and construction of CP systems
  • Communicates effectively and articulately at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and flexibility in work approach.
  • General computer knowledge (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MATHCAD).
  • Demonstrates professional approach when representing Subsea 7 builds and enhances relationships with client and manages interfaces effectively
  • 3D CAD modelling in Inventor is a plus

 

 

 

 

Non-Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Experience with integrity systems and knowledge in key areas of internal corrosion engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice
  • Experience in developing corrosion deliverables such as Material Selection and Corrosion Management Plan /Philosophy
  • Experience Perform corrosion rate calculations using Industry standards and software.
