Job description
BHI is looking for a Computer Aided Design Technician (CAD) to support our US based Commercial Decommissioning Project work. The CAD Tech will be responsible for the development and maintenance of land area maps, facilities drawings and building layouts. Job Details / Essential Job Functions: Duties include but are not limited to:*Understand map layering in AutoCAD software.
*Working with field Radiological Engineering teams to develop Site Maps or Base Maps of owner controlled open land areas.
*Maintain site features as building locations, ground contours, and planned and collected survey locations.
*Prepare custom maps, and presentation graphics using AutoCAD, Adobe, Word, and Power Point.
*Provide GIS data and information, and maintain base mapping showing plant layouts, locations of hazardous materials in support of our engineering staff (project planning, site preparation etc.).
*Work with multiple coordinate systems, conversions, and data conventions.
*Provide CAD maps of project survey areas to communicate study areas for radiological planning and reporting.
*Prepare system and facility drawings, based on construction plans/drawings in all standard drawing formats, including 3D Modeling, using AutoCAD.
*Prepare plans, diagrams, schematics, and as-built drawings from legacy hard copy using scanning technology and raster to vector conversion software, or hand-drafting techniques when necessary and electronic data is not available.
*Organize and maintains CAD drawing control system for electronic and hard copy printed drawings, maps, and media.
*Assist with locating drawings, both electronic and hard copy.
