Description
Husson University’s College of Science and Humanities invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Health Sciences position to begin in fall 2023. Teaching responsibilities will include anatomy and physiology and other health sciences courses within the candidate’s area of specialization. Particular attention will be paid to candidates who can teach Nutrition or Pathophysiology although these areas are not required.
This position complements existing programmatic and faculty expertise in the College of Science and Humanities, which currently offers undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences, Pre Medicine, Biology, and Exercise Science. Science faculty also teach foundational courses for students enrolled in the pre-professional phases of the Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy programs at the university. The successful candidate is expected to fulfill the institutional expectations for teaching and departmental service.

Examples of Duties
The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate science courses for students in science majors and in other related programs. The successful candidate will also fulfill faculty expectations for participation in departmental service. The position requires teaching 24 credits per academic year.
Note: This is a face-to-face position; candidates are expected to be on campus.
Typical Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Science; ABD considered. Master’s degree required for Instructor level position.
Knowledge and ability to teach undergraduate courses in anatomy and physiology. The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic, creative, and engaging and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusive education.
