Position Description
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service.

Major/Essential Functions
The position is for only online classes with a teaching load of 3-3. The classes will be either synchronous or asynchronous, based on departmental need and type of class. The duty point can be anywhere in the United States and the position is renewable dependent on continued funding and candidate performance

Required Qualifications
PhD in Sociology or related field at the time of the appointment is required. Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness, including undergraduates in the United States. Ability to teach effectively. Job assignment is full-time instruction. This position will be classified as Security Sensitive and require a criminal background check if selected for employment.

Preferred Qualifications
ABDs will be considered. Candidates with teaching experience and demonstrated teaching effectiveness in online classes are preferred. Experience working with first-generation students is highly desirable
