Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology Focus

Designs and delivers instruction in undergraduate courses offered by the Department of Kinesiology, including but not limited to Physiology of Exercise, Data Collections in Exercise Science, Fitness Assessment and Prescription, and Health Considerations for Special Populations, including preparation and coordination of all associated laboratory activities. Oversees internship opportunities for exercise science students, sponsors/coaches the Texas ACSMStudent Bowl team, and provides oversight to Exercise Science Laboratory development. Participates in all department, school, and University-wide tasks and activities. Other duties include advising students.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses

Earned doctorate in exercise science/kinesiology with a primary focus in exercise physiology is required; ABDis considered with a deadline for terminal degree completion.


  • Candidates with additional expertise in adapted activity, sport psychology, and/or external certifications such as ACSM/CES, ACSM/RCEP, ACSM/HFI, NSCA/CSCS, or NSCA/CPTwill be given preference.
  • Demonstrated potential for strong teaching and quality research is required.
