Job Description:
As part of the Cancer Center’s Clinical Research Office, you will be responsible for leading the Clinical Research Administration Division which is responsible for oversight and management of protocol activation, amendments, contracting, and research administration activities across the Center’s clinical trials portfolio.
In your new role you will be responsible for the following:
- Oversight of the Division including management of personnel, financial, and operational resources as well as liaising with institutional and external partners on behalf of the CRO and the Center.
- Development and implementation of the strategic direction of the CRA division including process improvements, resolution of barriers to research projects within the area of responsibility, metrics management, and other related activities.
- Pre-award activity management for clinical research projects undertaken at the UFHCC including site evaluation, budget development/negotiation, contracts review, and proposal/trial management in OnCore and UFIRST.
- Post-award activity oversight for clinical research projects undertaken at the UFHCC including management of progress reporting, post-award modifications, no-cost-extensions, protocol amendments, as well as account and budget reconciliations.
This is a senior leadership position ideal for candidates with established careers in research administration specializing in clinical trials awards management. Ideal candidates with have an engaged, forward-thinking management style with a desire and skillset to grow the CRO research portfolio and refine divisional activities.

Expected Salary:
$95,000 – $110,000; Commensurate with Education and Experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience:
- A Master’s in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent.
- 10+ years of research experience including experience with pre- and post-award management with prior experience as a supervisor or team lead and/or completion of leadership/management training.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of oncological and clinical research concepts and terminology including expertise in NCTN/ECTCN Cooperative group trials.
- Experience with clinical trials budget, contract negotiations, and Medicare Coverage Analysis determinations.
- Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the university research environment in an academic medical setting including clinical trials management and financial accounting.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of FDA regulations, CFR statutes, and ICH-GCP guidelines as well as federal research management guidelines, including OMB A-81, and FAR practices.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and applied GAAP and GAS principles as well as State/Federal and institutional accounting rules and regulations is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with detailed financial data and to analyze financial information, providing logical conclusions/projections and program evaluation and anticipating costs/obligations.
- Professional certification in clinical research (CCRP, ACRP-CP, etc.) and/or research administration (CRA, CPRA, CFRA, etc.) and active affiliation with appropriate professional networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement.

- Demonstrated success and experience in project management, as well as the ability to lead focus groups and committees through project completion.
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite.
